THE King’s School play their biggest game of the season so far when they face up to The Royal Grammar School Newcastle in the last 16 of the Daily Mail Cup.

Originally 550 teams originally entered the blue ribbon competition with King's beating last season’s semi-finalists St Peter’s York 32-12 in the previous, seventh round.

The RGS Newcastle side will include Joel Hodgson at fly-half, a hugely talented half-back who played scrum-half in the England Under-18 victory against the touring Australian Schools side before Christmas.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm on Saturday, January 23 at the Derby Playing Fields.

King’s rugby coach Andy Rice said: "We are down to the elite teams in the country now and RGS Newcastle are bound to be tough opposition, but we have some talented players of our own and a strong desire to win."

All rugby fans are welcome to attend.
