Wilmslow High School welcomed two stars who will hopefully be bringing home Olympic gold this summer.

Great Britain stars Nicola White and Emily Maguire visited the school to coach a training session, offer some tips and talk to the pupils about their experiences.

The pair, who are in the mix for Olympic glory in London this summer, hosted the session as part of the In2Hockey initiative.

Nicola said: "I started playing hockey at school so it’s fantastic to be able to return to the playground, meet the kids and speak to them about their sporting ambitions.

"The Olympic Games was always a massive inspiration to me growing up and if I can help inspire the next generation and recruit some new fans of hockey in the process then that would be great."

The school’s Kayleigh Humphreys added: "It is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to meet hockey players that will be playing in the Olympics this summer.

"I have no doubt that they will learn a lot from this experience.

"We’ve had an extremely successful season with hockey and it is a great way to celebrate our recent successes."
