BEWARE a Boarhound side with wounded pride. That was the message sent out after last week’s heavy defeat as Boarhound were outstanding in a 10-2 win over Hollins, who must have wondered what hit them.

Conceding five in each half, Hollins suffered their worst defeat of the season as Wayne Riley dictated play in midfield and scored twice, Craig Hayes scored a hat-trick, with Decland Fletcher and Craig Hulme also grabbing two apiece. Andy Shard added a 10th. The goals for a shell-shocked Hollins came from Roy Rostrum and Matt Beswick

Blueberry were brought down to earth with a bump after their first win of the season last weekend by an Ox-fford side growing in confidence.

Leading 3-1 at the break, it was more of the same in the second half as the home side ran out comfortable 6-2 winners at Congleton Road.

Tim Hammond and Jonny Mercer gave Bollan a two-goal advantage in the first half but a Lee Malkin strike got the home side back on track early in the second half.

Pack went down to nine men when striker Dave Hancox was dismissed and it gave them a mountain to climb.

A fantastic free-kick from Mike Mezarios brought the score back to 3-2 after Andy Davies had added to Bollan’s lead.

Superior numbers finally put paid to any comeback the Pack could muster as John Williams hit two and Ben Davenport another to make the final score 6-2.

Jake McGarry was the goal hero for Brewers, notching the only score in their game at Vale.

The victory moves Brewers up two places into second.

Vale made a real fight of it and will be kicking themselves not to have taken at least a point from this encounter, as they missed a first-half penalty and had a goal disallowed in the second half.

Division One

Chain & Gate put in a much improved performance but goals from Craig Evans and Ben Evans weren’t enough as they went down 5-2 at home to First Division leaders Albion Rovers.

The Sunday League’s basement side took an early lead but two goals from Jamie Collins, alongside strikes by Neil Smith, Ian Potts and Mike Gibbons, secured the points.

Poynton put in a dismal performance as they were run ragged by a confident Macc Boys Juniors.

Matthew Hodgkinson scored the pick of the goals with a free-kick from an outrageous distance.

David Short grabbed three and Calum Loftus, Scott Mezarios and Chris Smallman were all on the scoresheet in a 7-0 win.

Unicorn secured their first win of the season with an excellent 5-1 win against Macc Tigers.

It was a thoroughly deserved victory which could kick-start what has been a miserable season so far.

In the third round of the League Cup, Macc Boys Seniors completed a miserable week for Three Crowns, who exited the FA Sunday Cup last weekend.

The fast-improving Seniors side toppled the Crowns with a 2-0 victory, Josh Roberts and Eddie Roberts hitting the goals in what will be a popular win for a side that, on their day, can give any team in the league a game.
