MACCLESFIELD Townés youth team take on Everton in the third round of the FA Youth Cup tonight (Wednesday).

The Silk youngsters earned the tie against Everton with victories over Curzon Ashton and Shrewsbury, and the game represents Maccés first appearance at this stage of the competition since 2003/04.

Evertonés youth team squad contains eight former Under-16 internationals, five from England and one each from Wales, Northern Ireland and Eire.

Everton currently sit second from bottom of the Youth Premiership but the clubés academy is famed for producing players who have progressed to the senior teams, such as Wayne Rooney, David Unsworth and Francis Jeffers.

Evertonés academy coach, Kevin Sheedy, said: "There are always upsets in cup competitions and we have got to make sure we are not one of them."

Maccés youth team manager, John Askey, said: "While weére probably not expected to win the game, Iéll be telling the lads to go out there and give it a go and enjoy the experience.

"Ités a big tie for us and ités nice to get a big name in the later stages of a competition."

Admission to the game at Moss Rose, which kicks off at 7pm, is é4 for adults and é2 for concessions. Supporters will also receive a club shop voucher.
