Will Perry’s extra-time goal sent Macc Boys Juniors through to the Macclesfield and District Sunday League Cup quarter-finals at the hands of Premier Division Vale.

In an even tie the sides couldn’t be separated over 90 minutes, with Matt Ainsworth scoring for Vale and Elliot Bruce on target for the visitors from the First Division.

Macc Boys showed their superior fitness in the extra 30 minutes and deserved to go through.

Also through are Queens, who took advantage of FC Congleton’s off-day to win 3-0. Mike Dingle netted first, and Stuart Ainsworth’s penalty and Sam Walthall settled it.

In the Premier League, Macc Boys Seniors overcame Boarhound 5-3 after racing into a four-goal lead in the first 16 minutes. Gaz Hunt (2), Chris Coppenhall and Eddie Roberts scored before Dec Fletcher (2) and Andy Shard pulled Hound back to within one goal.

With just three minutes remaining Roberts – in his first game back after a broken ankle – made the game safe for Seniors.

Ox-fford leapfrogged Pack Horse to go top with a 6-3 win over Albion Rovers.

After leading 3-0 at the break, Ox-fford went five up with Dan Frost (2), Carl McCurrie, John Slater and Dave Billington netting before Albion, who missed a first-half penalty, came to life.

Dave Barrett’s brace and Jamie Collins’ goal made it 5-3 before Liam Hadfield completed the scoring.

In Division One, Nags Head’s 4-1 win over Poynton Legion moved them into second, while two goals for Bobby Cash were enough to see Poynton to a 2-1 win in a heated clash with Railway View.

The game descended into farce in the second half and, after a total of five players had seen red, Rick McGovern pulled one back for View.

Neither Hollins nor Spinners will have been delighted with their 2-2 draw but Hollins would have been slightly happier as their 10 men came back from two goals down.

Spinners’ Brigg Simpson and Dave Lovatt scored but Gaz Burns and Jon Browning’s penalty rescued a point for the leaders.

Chilli Banana won the clash against fellow strugglers Chester Road Tavern, Mike Meszaros scoring the first from the spot. Although Dan Barber’s header levelled the game, Paul Stevenson popped up a second-half winner.

Tythy Juniors’ charge up the table stalled with a 3-2 defeat to Blueberry, who had Jermaine Leveridge, whose brace took him to 16 for the season, and Ben Atkins to thank. Lewis Evans and Lee McIntyre scored for Tythy.
