Brian’s Taxis Macclesfield and District SFL: Pack Horse retained their ninth successive title this Sunday with a 2-1 victory over rivals Queens Macc at Mary Dendy playing fields.
Queens took the lead after 15 minutes with a Craig Hayes free kick on the edge of the box, after Nick Stone was adjudged to have fouled Ryan Stewart.
However, Pack – who recently won their first Macc and District FA Sunday Cup in 20 years – struck back almost instantly through Tom Dean who poked the ball home after a Martin Quigley cross.
The second half remained closely contested with little chances falling to either team.
Though Queens looked the most likely but Stone came to the rescue with a diving goal-line clearance.
Queens were to rue the missed opportunity with five minutes to go as striker Simon Band came off the bench to hammer home the winner.
