Pack Horse took a large step in retaining their Premier Division title as they ran away with the second half against Prestbury after Simon Gibbon’s first half opener.

Martin Quigley, Harry Wheetman and Matt Towns (2) added to Prestbury’s woes in a 6-0 mauling.

Albion Rovers had a bad day too as they went down 5-0 away to AC Bollan. Andy Davies scored twice with Tim Hammond, Paul Cook and Tom Moores also on target.

At Congleton Road Ox-fford kept up their slim chance of pipping Pack Horse by beating Macc Boys Seniors 4-1 in a bad tempered match.

However, they must win both their remaining fixtures and hope Pack lose both of theirs to stand any chance. Carl McCurrie scored twice for the visitors with Ryan Fitter and Dan Frost grabbing one each. Gaz Hunt got a consolation for Seniors.

At Back Lane, Boarhound’s Rich Nelson played his last game after 12 years. It was an emotional day for the big centre-half and he and his team finished the season off with a 3-2 win at Vale.

Aaron Walker got the visitors off to a dream start scoring after barely 12 seconds but John Banks equalised. Ben Hamand and Walker’s second ensured a two-goal cushion before a Tom Jackson penalty made it 3-2.

In one of the closest First Division title races for years four teams are contesting top spot.

In pole position are Queens who won 6-1 at Poynton, despite going behind to Leon Eadsforth.

Sam Davidson and Stuart Ainsworth both scored twice with Luke Murray and Carl Henshall netting as well.

Hot on their heels are cup finalists Spinners who had their third win in six days, 5-1 at Blueberry. They will be without Paul Brown who, dislocated his shoulder and will be out for the rest of the season.

Jermaine Leveridge hit the opener for the hosts but Dave Williams’ brace and Gareth Richards’ hat-trick secured the victory.

At Victoria Park Railway View edged rivals Hollins 2-1 with View’s Mike Harrison scoring after only 12 seconds. Successful spot kicks from Railway’s Chris Coxen and Hollins’ Jon Browning means Railway go level with Queens at the summit.

Just below the battle for the top Macc Boys Juniors beat Nags Head 4-3 with a last-minute penalty. On target for Macc Boys were Scott Meszaros (2), Alex Tomlinson and James Wooten. For Nags, whose title challenge was ended, Lee Anderson (2) and Craig Millward were on target.

Sporting Kerridge still remain winless this season but a 3-2 loss to Chester Road was no disgrace. Steven Marshall, Lee Capes and Dan Barber all netting.
