The bubble burst for resurgent Wilmslow CC as league leaders Holmes Chapel handed out a lesson.

A defiant 58 from Toby Rowe, in addition to a four-wicket haul were the positives but 109 all out in less than 26 overs allowed Chapel to win by six wickets.

There was a lack of runs for the second and third teams yet both managed victories.

Invited to bat at Sandbach, the seconds managed a disappointing 103, but they maintained their hopes of promotion with a clinical demolition of the home side.

Imran Asraf (5-14) and Aaron Carr (3-20) were the main attackers, with keeper Andy Metzelaaar and Chris Arnott taking two superb catches apiece to skittle Sandbach out for 53.

Not to be outdone the thirds travelled to league leaders Ashton All Stars, recovering from 61-6 to register 156.

Rob Hart, Jake Woodhouse and Tom Rowe then took three wickets each to dismiss the home side for just 60.
