Wilmslow Wayfarers’ firsts had a successful weekend as Heaton Mersey conceded their game.

Meanwhile the second XI drew against Audlem. Bowling first, Wayfarers spooned several chances and, as a result they were always behind the game despite Matt Ladd’s fine effort of 4-56.

Kolpak Jacques Chobbe-Lerrone (2-13) and MS Bhamjee (1-31) were the other wicket takers as Audlem closed on 163-8.

In reply, Wayfarers started slowly despite Ladd’s 34 at the top of the order.

Khatteer Zeb’s 56 not out added impetus, but he only found support from professional Joseph Clinch (17) as Wayfarers fell short at 149-9 off their allotted overs.
