LANGLEY fought back from the edge of disaster to ensure their promotion bid will go to the final game of the season after an excellent win over second-placed Woodford.
Langley got off to a poor start as openers Gregory and Hollinshead went cheaply. Langley struggled to 18-2 and only Platt (28) looked in any comfort as Langley were in danger of being bowled out, wobbling to 79-6.
But the game changed shape as Stevens and Frame rebuilt the innings. Cautious at first, the pair played themselves in then slaughtered the Woodford attack as they added a league record 156 for the seventh wicket in 18 overs before both fell in the 43rd over.
Stevens scored 89 off 81 balls including 14 boundaries and Frame 74 off 65 balls, with three fours and eight sixes, Langley declaring on 241-8.
In reply Woodford lost three early wickets and never really recovered, with only Barker (58) putting up any solid resistance as Langley bowled with great accuracy and took some fine catches.
Langley bowled Woodford out for 150 with eight overs to spare, the recalled Barber taking 3-15, Joel Unsworth 3-39, Hollinshead 3-36 and Frame 1-27.
Langley are now eight points behind Woodford and travel to Wilmslow Wayfarers for their final game, hoping to make up the ground.

Langley scored 137 all out with Rick Laughton scoring 67.
Langley then dismissed Northwich for 68, Matt Barber 5-15, Randy Belfield 3-38 taking the wickets.
Langley Sunday XI beat Pott Shrigley Sunday XI in a good game on Sunday.
Langley scored 182 all out, Edd Johnson scoring 74. Pott then scored 166-9 with Brain scoring 60 not out and Frame taking 3-4.
