Relegation-threatened Poynton showed fight to beat Bramhall by 22 runs in a low-scoring game at London Road.
The victory, Poynton’s fifth of the 2011 season, gives them hope of escaping the drop to Division Two.
No batsman topped 30 in either side as Poynton were dismissed for 120, as Simon Wilkinson finished with figures of 5-35 and Andy Hayes 3-35.
Bramhall were then ousted for 98, with the star of the show for the home side being Rick Clark, who bowled brilliantly to finish with handsome figures of 7-41 and Danny Williams backing him up with 3-34.
