Langley won by five wickets

Pott Shrigley made a return to winning ways with a fine victory against Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge.

Skipper Jamie Hart won the toss and elected to field, with the in-form Marinus Klopper and Julian Scarsbrook making early inroads to reduce Ladybridge to 28-4.

A fifth-wicket stand of 50 gave the Ladybridge score some respectability but they were eventually all out for 117 in the 43rd over.

The wickets were shared equally between Klopper (3-24), Rick Mattock (3-33), Scarsbrook (2-22) and Matt Jackson (2-33) with some fine fielding supporting the bowlers.

With rain in the air Shrigley looked to knock off the required runs quickly.

Hart was in particularly blistering form with a swift 41.

He was well supported by knocks of 18 from Jon Ward and an excellent 32 not out from Steve Barlow which saw Shrigley reach the target in only 17 overs.

Shrigley end the first half of the season in second place and hope to continue this momentum.
