MARLBOROUGH Primary School is celebrating after its unbeaten netball team won the Macclesfield and District League.

The Year Six girls represented the school for eight games against three other primary schools, and didn’t lose a game in the entire tournament.

Joanne Dempsey, team coach and teaching assistant, put the winning streak down to devoted players and fantastic teamwork.

She said: "They played eight games and were unbeaten.

"We had a couple of close calls and drew with Upton Priory, but it’s not a bad record.

"They played so well together and supported one another and their dedication has been fantastic – it’s definitely well deserved and we are all very proud."
