Macclesfield’s Little Theatre will perform an evening of plays by American playwright Tennessee Williams.

While many of his plays have been adapted for film, such as A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Macclesfield Amateur Dramatics Society (MADS) will concentrate on six of Tennessee’s less popular plays.

Six By Tenn - which includes In Our Profession, The Case of the Crushed Petunias, Me, Vashya, The Fat Man’s Wife, At Liberty and The Dark Room - will be performed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (October 20 - 22) at Macclesifeld Little Theatre.

Nigel Stephen and Laura Crowe perform in 'The Case of the Crushed Pertunias', by Tennessee Williams, for Macclesfield Amateur Dramatics Society.

It will be performed by Robert Copeland, Elena Brearley, Logan Westbrook, Nigel Stephen, John Haigh, Laura Crow and Suzanne Copeland.

Gordon Hamlin, director, said: “These six short plays are amusing, satirical, dramatic and even a little whimsical at times. Six by Tenn is an imaginative and unique opportunity to peek inside the often amusing and sometimes troubled head of one of the greatest 20th Century American playwrights.”
