A shop owner who supports Macclesfield artists by selling their items in her shop has celebrated five years in business.

Heather Bamber stocks products from more than 50 local artists and makers in her shop, There’s No Place Like Home on Mill Street.

She sells furniture, art, cards and gifts and her bestsellers are artist’s impressions of local heritage landmarks and the countryside.

One artist is Ian Coppack from Langley whose designs include drawings of White Nancy, Jodrell Bank, The Old Sunday School and Macclesfield Forest. These are printed onto tea towels, mugs and coasters by businesses such as RA Smart in Bollington, Happy Valley Mugs and EduPrint at the David Lewis Centre.

Heather Bamber has run No Place Like Home for five years and has developed a strong following

Heather invited her artists to celebrate the shop’s fifth birthday.

She said: “My ethos is to support the many talented artists and printers who contribute to the local economy.

“I think focusing on our heritage is important in the future growth of Macclesfield.

“This has always been my approach and the reason I’ve had five successful years. It continues to grow and attract people from all over the North West, providing them with memories of the local area.”
