A 33-year-old man has died after a road traffic collision in Macclesfield.
A Volkswagen Golf collided with a Range Rover, and police who attended the scene also found a tree partially in the road.
The driver of the Volkswagen died at the scene. The front seat passenger, a 46-year-old woman, had to be released from the car by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and was taken to hospital.
The accident occurred on Farm Lane, Lower Withington, Macclesfield, this morning at around 7.10am.
The man's next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the Ranger Rover, a 43-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital to be checked over.
Road closures were put in place at the corner of Farm Lane and the A535 but are due to be lifted soon.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 132 of 13 February.
