Young performers are getting ready to take to the stage for an annual pantomime.

Tickets are now on sale for the show by members of Cheshire Youth Pantomime Society (CHYPS), who will be performing Peter Pan at the Woodford Centre in the New Year.

Teenagers from All Hallows Catholic College in Macclesfield are among those taking part.

CHYPS is run as a charity and money from ticket sales is ploughed back into the group.

Ian Hunt, chairman, said: “All proceeds go back into the cost of putting on next year’s pantomime.

“All our vocal coaches, directors, costume makers are volunteers and do a brilliant job.

“We will have a dress rehearsal, where local disadvantaged families and children will be invited to watch Peter Pan, making the show accessible to the wider community.

“CHYPS perform award winning pantos with some of the most talented young performers in East Cheshire.”

The dress rehearsal is on Monday, January 4, before performances from Tuesday 5, to Saturday 9, at 7pm. Saturday’s matinee show starts at 2pm.
