Four hundred years after Guy Fawkes's foiled plot to blow up Parliament and we are still celebrating.

Here in Macclesfield there will be a number of bonfire events over the weekend of Friday, November 4, and Saturday, November 5.

  • Macclesfield Cricket Club’s Firework Festival will be held on Friday .

There will be a fire show, funfair and stalls, and two firework displays at the Victoria Road club, with one for kids at 7.15pm and the main event at 8pm.

There will also be a licensed bar and food.

Tickets are available from Chrome Motors, on Beech Lane, Treacle Pies, on Charlotte Street, Simply Scrummy on Chestergate, Bargain Booze on Chester Road, Club AZ, Best One on Bond Street, The Sandwich Bar in Broke Cross, Soma Cafe and Bar on Sunderland Street, and Boozer on Mill Street, or by clicking here .

Tickets cost £20 for a family ticket (£15 in advance), £7.50 adult (£5), £5 kids (£4).

  • Prestbury Golf Club ’s bonfire and fireworks display is also planned for Friday .

The bonfire will be lit at 5.30pm and the fireworks will start at 7.30pm. There will also be a bar and food stalls at the Macclesfield Road club.

Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for juniors - glow rings included - or £25 for family.

  • Beech Hall Parent's Association has also organised a school display on Friday.

    Doors open at 4.30pm, the bonfire is lit at 5pm and display at 6.30pm. Tickets are available from pta-events.co.uk/bhpa/ or contact 01625 422192.

  • The Tytherington Club presents its Bonfire and Firework Display on Saturday , November 5.

The gates to the club on Dorchester Way, Tytherington, will open at 5.30pm. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the firework display at around 7pm.

There will also be a funfair, food stalls and refreshments.

Advance tickets cost £26 (family ticket), £9 (adult) and £6 (under 12s).

  • A bonfire night at Pott Shrigley Cricket Club will also take place on Saturday .

Visitors to the cricket field at Pott Shrigley can enjoy a firework display, real ale, mulled wine, glowsticks, bbq and games.

Tickets cost £7 for daults, £3 for kids and £16 for families.

  • Mottram St Andrew’ s village bonfire also takes place on Saturday at the village hall.

There will be a fireworks display, licensed bar and hot food.

Doors open at 6pm and the bonfire will be lit around 6.45pm. The fireworks display will be at 7.30pm.

  • The Poynton Bonfire and Fireworks will be held at Poynton Pool on Saturday from 5.30pm.

The event has been organised by Poynton Round Table with all proceeds going to good causes.

The event will include a junior firework display at 7pm, with the main one at 8pm, a fairground, family viewing area, live bands, licensed bar and food stalls.

Tickets start at £4 for children, £7 adults and £16 for families.

  • Wilmslow Bonfire will be on Saturday.

Organised by Wilmslow and District Round Table it will include a fun fair, food stalls, sweet tent and much more.

The gates will open at 5.30pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm. A children's fireworks display will be at 7pm with the main event taking placfe at 7.30pm.

Advance tickets cost £7.50 for adults, £4.50 for children and £20 for the family. An additional cost will be incurred if purchased on the door.
