MEMBERS of the Macclesfield branch of UKIP are to select their candidate to stand in this May's general election.

The vote will take place at Macclesfield Rugby Union Football Club, on Thursday at 7pm.

The selection process will involve candidates giving a short speech and answering questions from the floor. There will then be a secret ballot by party members.

The chosen candidate will go up against Green party candidate Joan Plimmer, Labour candidate Tim Roca as well as current Conservative MP David Rutley in the battle for the Macclesfield constituency.
