Two people had to be cut free after a three car smash in Henbury.

The accident happened around 5:10pm yesterday evening.

An A-Class Mercedes, Honda Civic and Peugeot Mardi Gras were involved in a collision near The Cock pub on Chelford Road, Henbury.

Firefighters from Macclesfield and Bollington helped rescue two casualties from the wreckage of the vehicles.

The ambulance service said a 52 year-old man was taken to Macclesfeld hospital with a suspected broken hip.

Several parked cars including a Ford Fusion and MR2 Roadster were also damaged whilst the window of a nearby house was smashed by a piece of flying debris.

The road was closed for over two hours, at both the Broken Cross and Chelford ends, whilst police investigated the accident and cleared away the debris.

Residents on the road said it was the second serious accident on the stretch of road in under a year.
