Tributes have been pouring in to a young driver from Macclesfield who died in a car crash .

Thomas Woodward, 25, from Macclesfield, died when the Renault Megane he was driving was in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa on Monday night.

Police were called at around 6.15pm to the crash on Macclesfield Road in Eaton.

Dozens of friends have paid tribute to Thomas, who was affectionately known as Pecker, on the Express Facebook page.

Anthony Gayle said: “Rest in peace Pecker. Thoughts to his family. You were a popular lad and well liked.”

Beckie Nadine said: “Rip Pecker, had some great memories with you.”

Nat Simpson said: “Rip Tom, was a pleasure off working with u in my previous job.”

Catherine Coombs said: “Rip Tom. Sending love to family and friends at this very sad time.”

Clare Brown said: “Really sad. Thinking of Thomas’s family. Lots of love to you all.”

Tracy Fletcher said: “Rip tom . thoughts are with family and friends. you will be so sadly missed by all who loved you.”

All the passengers of the Corsa, which included a woman, man and two children, were taken to Royal Stoke Hospital.

The woman has serious injuries, while the man and children suffered non-lifethreatening injuries.
