THESE are the young, gorgeous and oh so wealthy Cheshire teenagers who are about to have their glamorous lives splashed on to the small screen in a new docu-soap.

The precocious bunch, from the "Golden Triangle" of Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Prestbury, have been followed by a film crew all summer for new MTV show Living On The Edge.

And while TV’s last attempt at a fictional blockbuster about the Cheshire Set - the critically panned Goldplated - failed to win viewers’ attentions, MTV are hoping their real life view of the county's teenagers will have a bit more resonance when it starts on October 14.

The action centres around bubbly 17-year-old Esme Conway, who narrates the show, and her friends, all students at three of Manchester's most prestigious schools - Manchester High School for Girls, Manchester Grammar and Withington High School.

The series will see the pals on shopping trips, at the beauty salon, on holiday in Marbella and Abersoch and at no-expense-spared birthday bashes - not surprisingly, MTV are billing it "LA Lifestyle, Cheshire postcode".

But the stars of this show assure us they won't come across as the stereotypical "heir-heads" - as they all have big ambitions in life, too.

Esme was was filming in Manchester as she met with her pal, and "badboy" of the show, Stephen Beard (he's currently at prestigious Sedbergh boarding school after being expelled from Manchester Grammar), for a drink at Zinc Bar & Grill.

Blonde Esme, from Bramhall, said: "We're just normal people, with the same problems as other teenagers, we are just fortunate enough to have grown up in a privileged area.

"We're good role models, because we're all educated and have ambitions but have lots of fun at the same time."

Esme is already making a name for herself as a party planner extraordinaire in Cheshire Set circles with her annual charity ball.

She said: "That's why I agreed to do the show, because hopefully it will highlight the work I've been doing and it's a good opportunity to get more people involved in the charity side."

Meanwhile Esme's best friend, straight-A student Brooke Sadler, says she took part to get an insight into the media world.

Brooke, 18, daughter of Manchester PR boss Deborah Sadler and CNN correspondent Brent Sadler, has now finished her filming - which will include her discussing whether to go ahead with a boob job - as she's started a theology and Arabic degree at Cambridge.

She said: "It's been an amazing experience and in years to come it will be nice to say, ‘those were my teenage years, that is what I did’.".
