EX-BOXER Nigel Benn may have the greatest fight of his life on his hands when he faces Christine Hamilton in a charity challenge.

The Dark Destroyer will meet the Tatton battleaxe in a celebrity edition of TV's Survivor.

In the programme, 'I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here', contestants have to spend two weeks in the great outdoors among spiders, crocodiles and venomous snakes.

Christine, 52, and former boxing champ Nigel, 37, won't be the only ones packing a punch on the live broadcasts, DJ Tony Blackburn, IT girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and Darren Day are also starring in the gruelling celebrity special.

Game-for-a-laugh Christine, wife of former Tatton MP Neil, said: "It's a great challenge and will be a chance to make new friends while winning money for our chosen charity, the Children's Wish Foundation.

"I don't know any of the other participants so I can't predict who I'm going to get on with.

"Despite the lack of creature comforts and the reports of venomous snakes I'm actually looking forward to it.

She joked: "The only thing I'm worried about is how Neil will survive two weeks without me!"

The fortnight of filming in the sweltering rain forests of Tully North Queensland starts on August 25.

It is set to be a prime time crowd-puller for ITV and a sure-fire winner for the charities.

In the conventional Survivor the winner takes home £1million.

Cash raised by Christine for the Children's Wish Foundation will provide terminally ill children and their families with holidays and other lifetime requests.

Christine was approached by a production team three months ago but declined the offer because she had other work lined up.
