STAFF suffered head injuries during a violent robbery at an airport parking facility.

A gang wearing balaclavas and armed with metal bars hit Flight Shuttle Services, at Boundary Farm, Styal Road, Wilmslow, at 1.20am this morning (Friday).

They threatened and assaulted staff before stealing cash from the safe.

Some of the group escaped using a bronze-coloured Honda Civic stolen parked at the facility.

Two male members of staff were taken to hospital with minor head injuries and were later discharged.

DS Anthony King, said: "This is a serious crime which has traumatised the staff who were only carrying out their job.

"Everyone has a right to go about their daily business without fear and we need to apprehend the people responsible quickly.

"We are currently making enquiries at the scene and appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Styal Road or who saw a bronze-coloured Honda Civic to contact us."

Police are appealing for any information in relation to the incident to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 35 of 10/10/2014, or anonymously to Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.

Flight Shuttle Services is a family-run business offering parking to Manchester Airport customers and staff at its three-acre Boundary Farm site for more than 20 years.

Flight Shuttle Services declined to comment on the incident.
