Children visiting the Black Swan in Lower Withington have been enjoying some quality time with Father Christmas.

Sharon Bardsley, who took over the pub in September, invited Santa to read  festive stories to children visiting the pub, with her eight-year-old daughter Coco drafted in as one of his little helpers.

Emma Williams, marketing manager for the pub, said: “We've had lots of kids coming to hear Stories with Santa – it's been choc-a-bloc.

“A lot of the time children meet Santa in shopping centres which are a bit clinical, but this is really special and homely. We have really lovely gardens here so the children have been running around outside and then coming in, sitting by the fire and listening to Santa.”
