COMIC Relief bosses are getting their knickers in a twist over an artist who is creating a big fuss with celebrity smalls - and Wilmslow’s celebs are donating their own delightful delicates to the cause.

Local "Loose Women" Denise Welch and Coleen Nolan have dropped their draws to add to the collection of famous pants which make up the "Knickerbokaglory" charity painting by artist Sian Doherty.

They join the likes of Sue Jenkins, Coronation Street’s Kate Ford and US comedian Rob Schneider in the "Knickerbokaglory Hall of Fame".

The knicker collage will be auctioned online for Comic Relief, which happens on Friday, March 13.

Sian, 37, who works on homes in Wilmslow, Mobberley and Alderley Edge as an interior designer and bespoke artist, said: "I have been nicking celebrity knickers from near and far to create the ‘Knickerbokaglory.’

"Comic Relief loved the idea, it fits their theme ‘do something funny for mone’ and they got on board straight away.

"Denise was happy to send me her knickers when I asked her and Coleen is sending hers too.

"The painting is a lot of fun and will be sold off for charity."

Sian has hit the headlines with her unique brand of underwear art and has a host of Wilmslow clients who think her design work is anything but "pants".

The Comic Relief piece is made up of knickers moulded to look like an ice cream, with paint daubed on to resemble cream and beading to create chocolate sprinkles.

The original "Knickerbokaglory" was displayed and sold as part of Sian’s "Beautiful Trash" exhibition, which explored recycling and how "anything can be made beautiful".

The knicker nabber added: "I use knickers because of the variety of colour, texture and frills."

Sian, who is Worsley-based, hopes to make big bucks for charity from her underwear ensemble, and hopes her "Ice Cream Sundae", made from a selection of The Sun’s most desirable page 3 girls’ knickers and up for grabs this week, will bring in yet more cash.

She can be booked to add a touch of quirky design to your home – with a princess-themed bedroom complete with castle mural on her recent list of design duties.
