TWO RAF helicopters have been spotted flying low across Macclesfield.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the planes had been flying near Sutton Hall and Macclesfield.
The mysterious Puma helicopters have also been spotted around Wythenshawe, Oldham, Manchester city centre and Stockport after a similar training exercise saw them circle the region on Monday.
An Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said she was ‘90 per cent sure’ the choppers are there as part of a military training exercise, as nothing unusual is going on in the region.
Various people have taken to the Macclesfield Express Facebook page to say they have seen the aircraft and want to get to the bottom of why they are circling the skies for the second time in a week.
Tracy Newnham wrote: “Just had two military helicopters flying low over us. I live on the Weston Estate and it looked like they landed in the hospital direction.”
