Local photographers showed Cheshire East really is picture perfect in a council-run competition.

These winning images will be used to promote tourism and illustrate the Local Plan, Cheshire East’s vision for the next 20 years.

A judging panel featuring photographer Simon J Newbury and Councillors Jamie Macrae and David Brown chose adult and under-18 winners for categories including art and architecture; people and places; hidden gems;  My Cheshire East; and Walkabout.

Now judges will look at the composition, originality, visual beauty and creativity of the 11 finalists and choose two overall winners.

They will win prizes including a spa-day for two adults, a photo portrait and vouchers to local attractions.

Coun Macrae, cabinet member with responsibility for prosperity, said: “The standard of entries across the board was really impressive and the variety of images was remarkable.

The quality of work and stunning landscape of Cheshire was very much in evidence.”
