How much more political rhetoric do you want to hear? How many times can David Cameron talk about curbing bonuses for failure?

At the same time as he’s banging on about it, the Royal Bank of Scotland, owned primarily by taxpayers, has seen its share price drop by more than 50 per cent while the chief executive stands to earn several million in bonuses.

How many times do we need Eurocrats threatening to ‘get tough’ on corruption within the EU without any impact whatsoever?

They’ve gone 17 years now apparently without a single firm of auditors willing to sign their accounts. Can you even count the number of promises made to improve the treatment of elderly patients in the NHS?

In the run-up to elections politicians are pregnant with promises of one kind or another.

David Cameron had some wonderful ideas (like replacing the ludicrous EU -inspired Human Rights Act for a UK Bill of Rights) all of which fell by the wayside once he gained office.

I have no idea what empty promises Nick Clegg is promoting.

I don’t think he knows either but I’m sure the PM will tell him… eventually.

Enough of this moaning, here is my plan. We must all buy earplugs and Nike t-shirts.

We’ll attend every political rally and the moment politicians start making promises we’ll stick in the earplugs and don our T-shirts emblazoned with…JUST DO IT !That’s my plan for 2012.

Are you with me?
