BIG BROTHER finalist Stuart Wilson's mum has accepted that her son and the recently ejected Geordie "bunny boiler" Michelle Bass are an item.

And Siobhan, who has taken the past few weeks' shenanigans firmly in her stride, believes the courting pair - to be reunited on Friday at the end of the show - will remain romantically together after the house has closed.

But she didn't want to go into the possibility of anything more serious ... like marriage!

This week she spoke about the sizzling love affair that rocked the nation - and the dinner table - and her longing to see her 20-year-old son, who has been away from their Macclesfield home for 13 weeks.

And she said she was looking forward to meeting the girl who has stolen her son's heart.

Talking about Stuart's very public fling with Michelle, Siobhan, a maths teacher at Congleton High School, said: "They will definitely start a relationship in the long term. They will continue that. She cares for Stuart a lot.

"I've met Michelle's family, who are really nice. And I'll meet them and Michelle on Friday, when we travel to London for the Big Brother final. We're staying in a hotel and attending a party."

She predicted a media scrum around Stuart, with modelling and advertising firms keen to offer him contracts.

"He'll have to make a quick decision if he gets offers of contracts the night he comes out. Agents will be bidding and if he doesn't accept them straight away, they won't be interested.

"I'll tell him to make the most of it while he can, while he's young. It's a short-lived thing and all new for him. But I'll ask him to stay away from the tabloids, even though they offer big money. They look for sleaze and twist things round.

"On Friday night, I'll stay with Stuart as long as I can. But he will be whisked off for a debriefing session and counselling with a psychologist, to prepare him for the shock of being right at the centre of media attention.

"Stuart will be thrown right into it and I'm a bit worried about him being overwhelmed."

Stuart, a former Macclesfield King's School pupil, is studying psychology at Leeds University. Siobhan said: "I miss him dreadfully. It's been really quite hard because he normally calls me on the telephone regularly."

She is looking forward to returning to normal life. She, husband Phil and their other children, Janet, 18, Fiona, 16, and 14-year-old John, have been watching Big Brother at home.

But Siobhan admitted: "Normally, I don't watch much TV. I've watched Big Brother because Stuart is in it, but I'm not a big fan of reality TV. It's part of youth culture but I'm not thrilled by it.

"I suppose if the other children wanted to enter a reality TV show, I'd go along with it. But they can't enter Big Brother because the rules don't let other family members take part.

"It's been nice to see Stuart when he's content and happy, and I think he's quite popular with housemates and the public.

"But his relationship with Michelle was so exposed that I found that hard. And when he gets emotional, it's hard for me because I haven't been able to do anything about it."

  • Channel 4 cameras visited Macclesfield this week, interviewing Stuart's family and the now famous "Team Handsome".

Researchers visited local radio station Silk FM, the Chicago Rock Cafe, where Stuart had a bar job, and the Tytherington Club, where he trains in the gym.

Also there were Stu's best mates Tom Warburton, of Cow Lane, Ashley; Tom Cumberbirch, of Highfield Road, Bollington; and Matt Barker, of Walton Heath Drive, Tytherington; all 20 and former King's School pupils.

The lads play sport together and call themselves "Team Handsome" for fun. They, too, have travelled to London for evictions and TV interviews.

Tom Warburton said: "I think Stuart's produced a positive reaction from the public but has been a bit overshadowed by Michelle."

Tom Cumberbirch said: "We're all proud of Stuart and wish him best luck. Girls are also proud of him. He's an eligible bachelor."

And Matt added: "Since Michelle was evicted last Friday, Stuart's had a chance to chill out."
