A dad has raised £2,700 after completing the London Marathon.

Pete Slack, 43, from Macclesfield, took on the challenge for TOFS, a charity which supports families of children born with Tracheo-Oeasophageal Fistula, the inability to swallow.

Pete’s daughter Molly was born with TOF as well as other conditions.

After life-saving major surgery she battled through and is now 16-years-old.

Pete said: “Just like most dads my daughter is the most important person in my life and when she was born as a TOF I was thinking the worse and knew nothing of the condition but with support from TOFS, myself and my family had our worries eased. As well as having the TOF, Molly has horse shoe kidney and epilepsy but she carries on as if nothing is wrong. So the training, fundraising and the marathon is nothing compared to what she has gone through.”

Other local runners in the marathon include Andrew Hyde, 60, who raised £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation and Sian Heslop, a Macclesfield Harrier member, who ran the mini marathon and was the sixth fastest under 13 girl.
