Healthy residents are being urged to do their bit and donate to the national blood bank.

The next donation session in Macclesfield will be at the Broken Cross Club, Broken Cross, on Monday, April 11.

Sessions run between 1.40pm and 4.15pm, or between 5.30pm and 7.55pm.

There are also sessions on Sunday, April 24, at the Senior Citizens Hall on Duke Street, Macclesfield.

Donors can go along between 9.40am and 12.10pm, or 1.25pm and 3.55pm.

People can also donate at Wilmslow Parish Hall, on Cliff Road, on Friday, April 15.

Blood is vital for a variety of life-saving procedures such as during or after childbirth or treating patients with blood disorders.

NHS Blood and Transplant always needs first-time donors to replace those who are no longer able to donate.

First-timers need to be aged between 17 and 66.
