THE Great British Bake Off contestant Luis Troyano has made it through to the semi-finals of the competition.

The graphic designer from Poynton with a passion for baking wowed judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood with his black forest cherry tree bread and cocktail donuts.

Martha was eliminated at the quarter final stage in last night's show.

It leaves only bakers left battling it out for the title Bake Off winner 2014.

Find out it Luis, 42, made it through to the final of the hit BBC show next Wednesday.

Luis, lives in Poynton with his wife Louise and their four dogs, drew upon his Spanish heritage and artistic skills to earn his place in the coveted bake-off tent, with unusual twists on classics such as his cherry brandy pipette gateaux and a tequila slammer cheesecake.

The self-confessed perfectionist spent a year brushing up on his baking skills before he could even fill in the application form.

Luis's day job is as client services director at a marketing agency in Cheadle Royal.
