A Hollywood superstar has thrown his support behind Macclesfield Town FC ahead of their last two games of the season.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been following the Silkmen since appearing on long-running football show Soccer AM in 2008.

The Sky Sports programme assigned the man-mountain a team to follow which he vowed to do.

He was even sent a triple XL shirt by the club in thanks for his support.

Seven years on the muscle-bound wrestling star-turned-film hero has again pledged his allegiance to the club.

Speaking to a journalist while promoting his latest movie Furious 7 the 42-year-old star confirmed his favourite English football team were “the Pride of Cheshire”.

His backing comes at a crucial time in the season. Macclesfield Town need to win both of the last two games to secure their place in the play-offs.

This Saturday, the club’s last remaining home game, the Moss Rose stadium hosts third-from-bottom Dartford.

The last game, on Saturday, April 25, is away against mid-table Torquay.
