A MECHANICAL defect caused a Ford Galaxy to catch fire in Gawsworth shortly after 10am on Saturday (August 29).
The vehicle, which is believed to have been travelling at the time, was at crossroads on Congleton Road.
Firefighters used one applicance and took 23 minutes to deal with the blaze.
