A family facing eviction have spoken of their fear of being evicted after the deadline for them to leave their home passed.

Stuart and Debbie Parkinson appealed for help in the Express three weeks ago after their landlord announced he was selling the property on Wiltshire Close in Upton Priory.

The family of 10 were issued an eviction notice but were unable to find a place big enough before the deadline on April 22.

Despite being given three extra days to move out the Parkinsons failed to secure a new property.

Stuart and Debbie say the landlord is entitled to evict them, but they have no option but to stay put with their eight children who are aged between 18 months and 17 years old.

Debbie, 40, who is a full time mum and carer for her disabled daughter, said: “We have been frantic looking for a place to live.

“We were given more time and we thought we had the perfect house only for the landlord to back out.

“It was heartbreaking.

“The advice we are being given is that we should stay where we are or we’ll be making ourselves homeless.

“The only options we are being given is a house outside the town or a hostel in Roe Street.

“I’m terrified that the bailiffs are going to come and turf us out on the street.”

Stuart works at Adamley Mill in Langley while former childminder Debbie is a stay-at-home mum. Anyone who can help the Parkinsons should contact Debbie on 07702 811835.

The landlord of the property was unavailable for comment as the Express went to press.
