A biker was caught on the road weeks after being banned for drug driving.

Mark Colin Parkinson, 20, was given a 15 month disqualification by magistrates in Macclesfield on June 28 after he was caught driving with cannabis in his system.

But less the four weeks later on July 25 Parkinson was spotted by police on a Honda CBR motorbike.

At Macclesfield magistrates’ court Parkinson, of Belgrave Road, Macclesfield, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance.

He was ordered to do 150 hours unpaid work and was banned from driving for 20 months.

Marie Hayden, prosecuting, said: “At 6.10pm PC Keenan received a tip off that there was a disqualified driver on the road. He followed the defendant onto Belgrave Road. He then saw the defendant try to gain entry in the property but was detained.

“He told officers during interview that he rode to get his keys from work and promised not to do it again. He said he would have been locked out from his house. He then said to the officer ‘please don’t take my bike’. It was also discovered that he hadn’t told his insurance company about the ban.”
