Volunteers and councillors are working together to come up with a plan for the future of the town’s development.

The Bollington Neighbourhood Plan is a chance for the community to have a say on what should be built in the town, such as homes and offices, and will be adopted by Cheshire East Council and could influence future planning applications in the town.

A team from Bollington has been set up to gather information from residents so you can have your say on what will happen to the town’s development over the next 15 years and has set up a Neighbourhood Plan Questionnaire for residents to complete.

Coun Amanda Stott, Deputy Chair of the Bollington Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, said: “The views of all residents, community groups and businesses matter. Our aim is to develop a Neighbourhood Plan that truly reflects residents wishes and help us achieve managed development in Bollington for the future.”

The streering group wants every resident over the age of 16 to complete the questionnaire

We want every resident, over the age of 16, to complete the Neighbourhood Plan Questionnaire either at www.Bollington-tc.gov.uk , or fill in the paper version which is being delivered to every household.

More paper copies are available at the Town Hall, Medical Centre, Post Office, Library and Leisure Centre.

When approved, the Plan will be adopted by Cheshire East Council and have statutory powers which will have to be taken into account in relation to future planning applications affecting Bollington.

The group is also hosting drop in sessions for anyone who needs help filling out the forms.

Questionnaires must be completed by June 30.

The completed Neighbourhood Plan has to be approved by the Town Council. It’s hoped the plan will be in place within 18 months.
