A boiler sparked a blaze at an estate in Disely.

Firefighters were called to reports of a building on fire at Lyme Hall, Lyme Park, at 6.30pm on Saturday.

They discovered a blaze involving a kerosene-powered boiler in the former stables, which are used by the warden as storage.

Two firefighters from Macclesfield wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel and one jet to extinguish the fire.

Also in attendance were crews from Wilmslow, Poynton and Derbyshire and an aerial platform from Macclesfield.

A spokesman for the National Trust, which owns the estate said the fire was small and no one was hurt.
