Wilmslow's town centre has been dealt another blow after health food store Julian Graves closed.

The Grove Street shop, specialising in dried fruit, nuts and other healthy snacks, slashed prices by 50 per cent for a closing down sale last week.

Administrators at Deloitte were appointed at the beginning of July by its sister company Holland & Barrett to take stock of its financial position and try to avoid job losses across the company where possible.

But it’s feared that more than 350 employees could be made redundant across the business.

The store’s closure is the latest in a series of closures in the town.

Argos and Henri Lloyd, on Alderley Road, and Felicini, on  Water Lane, have all shut this year.

A customer, who did not want to be named, said it was a ‘great shame’ that the shop – managed by the same two members of staff for the past 10 years – had closed.

Staff at the store said they were unable to comment on the closure.
