A hot lamp caused a fire when it fell onto some bedding.
Firefighters were called to a small fire involving some bedding in a sheltered housing resort in Poynton.
The crew from Poynton discovered that a lamp had fallen onto the bed and burnt a hole into the bedding.
The fire was out on arrival so they carried out a safety assessment.
The incident was at 5.23am yesterday (Monday, September 27) on Vernon Road.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has advised residents to always switch off lamps before leaving a room. A bedside or desk lamp can start a fire if it comes into contact with fabric.
