Pubs, clubs and bars across the town painted the town pink in a joint event to battle breast cancer.

Paint Macc Pink saw a host of fundraising activities including headshaves, gigs and DJ sets on Friday, October 2.

It is hoped thousands of pounds has been raised for Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Appeal.

Venues involved included: Society Bar at Dukes Court; The Snow Goose on Sunderland Street; Trackside Studios; No.4 Park Green; The Old Millstone; Café Society, Fresh, Mash Guru, The Bate Hall, The Wharf, Brewtique, Tempranillo Bar and Tonic bar.

Ron Tiki’s Bar, Red Willow, The White Lion, Porters, Prince Of Wales, Capri Di Lounge, The Nags Head, The Jolly Sailor, Treacle Tap and Revolution were also involved.

Organiser Matthew Till said: “We’d like to thank everyone that supported the Paint Macc Pink fundraiser. Venues across the town helped raise awareness and collected money in aid of the Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Appeal.
