This week, a coffee morning, a festive fair, celebrating doctors and a radio presenter feature in our Time-trip column.

Each week we will publish a set of pictures taken by our photographers which appeared in the paper in the 2000s.

The pictures appear first on our website and are then reprinted in the paper.

This week one of our pictures shows the former bus station site on Sunderland Street, Macclesfield, with, in front, Dr Gill Plant, and, from left, Drs William Ford-Young, Steward Higgins, John Carter, David Morris and Ingrid Kramer, celebrating a new surgery.

There is also a shot of Poynton Working Mens Club’s 1960s night, with members of Rising Starts Poynton and radio presenter Mike Shaft, and another of Macclesfield Library coffee morning for Fair Trade Fortnight, with helpers John Grant, Barrie Towse, Sheila Bishop, Sheila Lake and Mary Maxwell.

Finally, there is a picture of East Cheshire Hospice’s Christmas Fair at the Senior Citizens’ Hall in Macclesfield, with the mayor and mayoress of Macclesfield, Coun Paul Whitley and Joyce Whitley with raffle prizes. Also pictured are Denis Hulme (left) and Josie Nickson from East Cheshire Hospice (right).

The photographs were all taken in the early 2000s.

If you have any pictures you would like us to feature in the column, please send them into us at communities@menmedia.co.uk or via the Macclesfield Express Facebook page.
