Tributes have been paid to a 33-year-old man who died in a car crash.

Dan Barlow died at the scene of the accident after his Volkswagen Golf collided with a Range Rover on Farm Lane, Lower Withington, Macclesfield.

Police also found a tree partially in the road after being called to the scene on Thursday (February 13) morning at around 7.10am.

Mr Barlow's front seat passenger, a 46-year-old woman, had to be released from the car by firefighters and was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

Dan?s family said: "He was a dedicated and loving family man, adored by his wife, two daughters, mum and dad, sister and dearly loved by all who knew him. He was a keen mountain biker and musician and devoted his life to helping other people as a pain nurse."

The driver of the Ranger Rover, a 43-year-old woman, was taken to Macclesfield Hospital to be checked over and was discharged later that day.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 132 of 13 February.
