A concert finale at Macclesfield Heritage Centre will be lit up by a renowned pianist.

Martin Roscoe will perform with the Northern Chamber Orchestra in the final concert of the current Macclesfield Heritage Centre season on Saturday, May 11.

On the bill are Mozart’s virtuosic piano concerto number 23 and one of the most instantly recognisable pieces of music from the 20th century,  Barber’s Adagio.

Young musicians from Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester will also perform.

The theme of the concert is ‘building bridges’ between eras and composers.

Works performed will also include Purcell’s Baroque Chacony and pieces by Samuel Barber and Benjamin Britten.

The concert starts at 7.30pm. The NCO will be back  in Macclesfield as part of the Barnaby Festival, on Saturday, June 22.
