THINKING of doing something new? Why not start the month off with a trip to Cheshire? There’s a huge amount of gorgeous sights to behold – as well as fun activities and events to suit everyone’s tastes.

Taking place in Knutsford on Sunday is the wonderful Artisan market from 11am to 4pm, bringing more than 100 of the finest food, drink, art and craft stall holders to fill the town. As well as treats and trinkets, the market will also showcase live music, entertainment and activities, making it a perfect day out for all.

For those wanting to get in touch with the great outdoors this weekend, there’s the picturesque Biddulph Grange garden, where a tracker pack half term activity will be taking place – perfect for the kids. Armed with binoculars and microscopes, they’ll be able to explore the gardens and get a close up look at its inhabitants. If gardens do take your fancy, then why not also pay a visit to The Quinta Arboretum? Regarded as one of Cheshire’s ‘Gardens of Distinction’, this is one of Britain’s foremost botanic and horticultural societies – the Quinta boasts some 800 species and more than 2,500 trees and shrubs.

The weather will hopefully stay sunny to allow the walkers amongst us to take up a route on the Cheshire Ring canal walk, which follows six historic canals of varying age and character – including the canals of Macclesfield, Rochdale, Preston and Manchester. Simply plan a route and take in some of the fantastic countryside.

If you’re thinking of a more relaxing trip, you could always book tickets for one of the many concerts on offer at the MBNA Chester Music Festival. Running until June 16, the event offers a variety of recitals and shows that are sure to stun you.
