Exquisite carved furniture will go on display this weekend as part of events to celebrate the town’s cultural heritage.

The antique items will be part of an exhibition at Charles Roe House by Incubation Arts, in conjunction with Heritage Open Days and Cheshire Open Studios.

The pieces are from the former Macclesfield School of Carving, which was an off-shoot from the School of Art and located independently in the town from the 1890s.

They will be on display on Saturday, from 2pm.

There will be a talk in the original 18th century panelled room on the first floor and displays from Macclesfield artists.
