Police are investigating a shooting in Wilmslow.

Officers were called to Styal Road north of the town centre on Thursday night after reports a shot was fired through a window.

Two people were in the home at the time, but were not injured, police said.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “As a precautionary measure, following the report, Styal Road has been closed so that police can continue enquires and conduct a search in daylight.

"There will be a higher visibility police presence as these enquiries are carried out.”
