MUSCLEMEN Mike Lutman, Mick Hehir and Rick Barker have been throwing their weight around lately.

The trio of bodybuilders from G's Gym on Pickford Street scooped a host of trophies after an impressive seven-day period.

Lutman started the ball rolling when he won the junior event at the North Staffordshire Open at Kidsgrove on September 24.

Hehir followed up the 20-year-old's success by winning the open class category at the same tournament, while Barker, 30, came fourth in the first-timers competition.

Lutman and Hehir, 32, were back in action at the Mansfield the following day - and back among the prizes.

Tough man Lutman collected the junior prize once again, while Hehir came second in the Under-90kilos section.

And the dynamic duo's success ensured they qualified for Mr Britain at Nottingham last Sunday, where they came fifth and fourth out of the 12 and 15 bodybuilders in their respective events.

"To come in the top-six in Britain is a fantastic achievement," said Gary Rollinson, owner of G's Gym and former Mr Britain. "Everyone is really proud of them and they've won some lovely trophies."

The pair are now considering whether to take part in the National Amateur British Bodybuilders Association (NABBA) Mr Universe at the end of this month.
