RU: For the third time this season, Macc tackle their Cheshire rivals from Merseyside and hope to make it a hat-trick of victories.

The Priory Park outfit were successful in the first league encounter at Birkenhead on December 7 by 28-13, and more recently won at home the day after the England v Italy International. That was in the Cheshire Cup when Macc won 18-8 with winger Matt Smith scoring his own hat-trick of tries to make the game safe.

Birkenhead Park went down in a close encounter at Chester last weekend by 16-14, and they will be anxious to make amends for the last three encounters with Macclesfield.

Andy Rice is believed to be unavailable this week and so Ross Harper will have a run at scrum-half.

Hopefully centre Tom Davenport will have recovered from what looked like a nasty knock at Huddersfield.

Elsewhere Ben Coulbeck returned in the encounter at Altrincham last Saturday.

He will surely be staking a claim for a spot in the squad who rested up last Saturday in preparation for the final run-in to the end of this eventful season which, after Saturday, has just one league game left.

That is at Aspatria on April 12 before, optimistically perhaps, a play-off against the second team in Midlands One for promotion.

Get along to Priory Park and enjoy the game - admission is just £4 with programme, that's a bargain, and there is plenty of space for parking also.
